Sick Sick Sick

What a long week! P and I have had a stomach virus and one or both of us have been sick for the last week. P started out throwing up which he's never done before. Actually, except for a runny nose or teething, he's never been sick before. Then I, who have not thrown up since I was 12, yup, even during pregnancy, actually got sick. It's the worst thing ever. I don't understand how people can be bulemic. Eugh.
So anyway, P has either been really quiet and wants to lay on me OR he's crying, which is also something that is not like him. He goes days without crying. So I feel so bad for him and I don't really know what to do. Today was the first day, so far, that he hasn't had diarrhea and his appetite seems to be coming back. We usually don't give him junk food, but he really seems to be craving it. He's been walking around the house making his sign for "more" and going "momomomo" everytime he sees something sweet. AND he knows the difference between good healthy food and junk food. I guess that's what we get for teaching our baby some sign language! It is really cute and I have to find my sense of humor through my pounding headache. Anyway, by tomorrow we'll all be in tip top shape!

Wii Night!

I like being older and being able to enjoy my parents in a different way. Last week we brought a Wii over to their house and bowled and played baseball. Dan d my dad boxed while my mom and I made cake. Nothing is funnier than watching my mom swing in baseball. A good time was had by all. Oh, and P favorite part? You can do most of the games one armed. He refuses to be left out. That's our boy!

I figured that P is old enough to try and play outside in the snow so I put on his boots and two pairs of pants and two sweaters and his big coat and hats and he lost his gloves (again) so I put socks on his hands which he thought was pretty funny. Then I put him outside since he's been really curious about the cold white stuff.

He sort of stood there for a while (although, I'm surprised he could move at all.) Then he went for the neighbor's goose. One of those cement ones that old people dress up. He didn't really know what to do so he started crawling around in the snow. I guess walkin went right out the window. I let him wallow around in it until his coat got crunchy from being cold.

Anyway, my baby was so cute and he had such a good time being allowed to roam around outside!

Ten People I'd Have Over for Dinner

I was tagged by Kiley and I pretty much do whatever she says...

1 (clearing throat) Rob and Kiley

3 Heidi, because she would be so funny

4 Stephanie Meyer. I don't know why I'm so obsessed. But I like the way she thinks in her interviews.

5 Collin Firth because he's dreamy.

6 Billy Joel

7 Lois Duncan

8 C.S. Lewis

9 Dhali Llama

10 Aimee, I miss her so much.

Since Thanksgiving...

In case anyone was wondering why it took me six weeks to post another entry, it's because it took me six weeks to figure out how to. I'm a slow learner. Anyway, Christmas was great and P got a LOT of toys. I'm talking, we returned some and we still have no more room in our house for a single other thing. Next year we may try and convince our families that a college fund contribution would be more fun to unwrap.

D is making a lot of headway at Edward Jones. He so far has been invited to join the Rotary Club, Lion's Club, Kiwanis and Chamber of Commerce. He thinks he'll join Lion's and the Chamber. Everyone is very excited to have him there and he's really well liked.

I have started working for my father in law for four hours every week. Talk about slave labor! It's good for me to get out and have something that is my own.

The biggest thing happening in our circle is that Evanoff's Pawn Shop burned down to the ground. It was really sad to see. The building is done for but with great friends and great insurance, Nick is going to take over Pop's license and start a new shop a couple buildings down. He's really focused. The fire started in one of the upstairs apartments and it took over 50 firemen over three hours with six hoses to get it out. I'm pretty proud of Nick though for holding up. Dustin and I stayed the next couple of days and while I watched P, D helped Nick and Pop's meet with the insurance people and do a mass clean up project. I'm so proud!

It's good to see how true some of your friends are when a tragedy like this happens. We watched the fire from John Snyder's dealership which is across the street. So many people came to support Pops and Nick and even more people came to help with the clean up and to help start the new shop. When we had our fire Nick sat with us the whole time and Pops gave us Wal-Mart gift cards to get some clothes. (I was 9 months pregnant, no one was my size to borrow from...) Even though this has been a disaster, a lot of good will come from it.
