My own philosophy...

So here are the answers to the BIG questions about my personal beliefs:

RELIGION
I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints or in other words, I'm a Mormon girl. My church is centered around families and believes that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer and that God is our Heavenly Father who loves us so much. And in no way will my husband ever have more than one wife. My church calls that adultery and you can kicked out for things like that. The rest of my beliefs are definitely influenced by my religion, but not necessarily doctrine.
I think that we all come to this earth with the same goal which is to return to our Father in Heaven. Some people may call it something different like finding peace but ultimately, it's to get to Heaven after this life. I also believe that we come here with our own set of tools. Those tools can be Religion, talents, gifts, families, personality, etc etc. Some of these gifts may be more handy than others. Anyway, in the end, I believe that we will all be judged a ccording to how well we used what we have been given.
ABORTION
Abortion should by no means be used as birth control. A lot of the problems in this country is that we're trying to find and base laws that cause us to be less responsible for our choices. I do believe that in situations of rape or where the mother could die, that it is a very personal choice that should be made with help. And by the way, if you get pregnant and don't want the baby because of how it will influence the rest of your life, CONSIDER ADOPTION. Lots of very loving and incredible people are waiting to have a baby. I can't stand how adoption isn't discussed more and instead, the media focuses more on teenagers raising their babies. I'm not saying that you're a bad person if you do, but adoption should be among your options.
GAY RIGHTS
This is a hard one for me since I have people I care about who are gay. I don't think they are bad people. I do think that sex is very sacred and so sacred that God didn't make anyone inheritantly that way. I think it's a temptation like anything else and that it's a choice. So yes, I am for traditional families that way and NO I don't think it's ok to hurt or judge someone because of their life choices. I sin and make so many awful mistakes, but I'd like to think I'm still a good person. I guess the saying is, "Don't judge someone because they're sin is different than yours."
POLITICS
Holy crap VOTE. If you don't, I don't want to hear you whine. And get involved already. Make a poster or write your senator. I think the laws that are passed in this country are not what the bulk of America would want. I think that it's a what the bulk of voting America wants. I went to the World Congress of Families because it happened to be in Washington D.C. that year. Mind you, WORLD CONGRESS and maybe 100 people showed up. But go to a Gay Rights Parade in NYC and you have thousands.
SIDE NOTES
Being mean or negative doesn't make you deep.
Take time to notice the color of the person's eyes who's in the same isle as you are in Wal-Mart.
Life can be so happy and rich and full.
Listen to the lyrics of the songs you listen to. I bet you'll be appalled.

  1. I'm so glad you cleared up that your husband can't have another wife. I was just wondering the other day when he was gonna pick another one up. lol Ok, I'm totally joking b/c I know how people always have that joke if you're mormon that you have lots of wives. I'm sure it gets old, huh?
